Youth Groups Support Orphanage, Caution Orphans Against Drug Abuse

Ashaiman: Two youth organisations, Shababu Usmaniya and Givit Ghana, have donated essential items to the Rahma Orphanage Home in Ashaiman, while cautioning the children against drug abuse.

According to Ghana News Agency, the initiative aimed at supporting underprivileged children saw the donation of food items, clothing, and stationery. The organisers noted that the gesture was timely, acknowledging that although the cost of living had relatively improved, charitable institutions continued to feel its effects.

The groups also used the occasion to engage the children on the importance of discipline, focus, and personal development. Addressing the gathering on behalf of the coalition, Ustaz Jazuli Ibrahim urged the children to remain committed to their education and life goals. He expressed optimism for the children's future, saying, "In shaa Allah, among you are future doctors, lawyers, Members of Parliament, and even presidents," encouraging them to focus on their studies and avoid negative peer influence, particularly substance abuse.

He further explained that the engagement formed part of a broader anti-drug abuse advocacy campaign being carried out by the groups.
