Accra: The Right Reverend Dr. Daniel Sylvanus Mensah Torto, Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Accra, on Sunday advised Christians to live purpose-driven lives rooted in faith and the Word of God. He emphasized that a purpose-driven life should be guided by the Word of the Lord and faith in Christ Jesus.
According to Ghana News Agency, Bishop Torto shared this message during the Easter Sunday Divine Service at the Anglican Cathedral Church of the Most Holy Trinity in Accra. He highlighted the importance of living a life grounded in the Word to overcome challenges, irrespective of the circumstances faced. Citing Proverbs 3:5, the Bishop encouraged the congregation to trust in the Lord at all times and not to depend on their own understanding.
He further asserted, "Everything you do should be firmly grounded in the Word and in faith in the Lord. It is through this that your faith will be strengthened." He assured that the Word of the Lord would guide and direct their paths, leading them through life's journey in alignment with God's purpose.
The congregation, dressed in white, participated in the service to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and His triumph over death. They engaged in prayer, hymn singing, and dancing in celebration of Christ's resurrection. The service was part of the Anglican sacred Triduum, a three-day observance from sunset on Maundy Thursday to sunset on Easter Sunday, which commemorates the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Despite spanning three days, the Triduum is viewed as one continuous service, often concluding with the Easter Vigil.
