Accra: The activist expressed frustration with individuals he believes ignored his previous advocacy but now demand his opinion on current issues.
According to Ghana Web, Barker-Vormawor criticized what he described as the hypocrisy of individuals who previously supported actions taken against him during the administration of former president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. In a social media post, he referred to these individuals as "partisan clowns," noting the irony in their current expectations of him.
Barker-Vormawor lamented that some of the same people now tagging him in public debates had cheered his detention and abuse. He questioned the logic of his critics expecting him to address issues they themselves have not publicly discussed.
Highlighting what he perceives as a pattern of "calculated outrage," Barker-Vormawor expressed disdain for those who he believes use him as a convenient voice for their own agendas. He argued that their outrage lacks authenticity and is merely performative.
Furthermore, Barker-Vormawor pointed out the inconsistency of his critics, reminding them that they had previously questioned his mental stability. Now, he noted, these same critics are acknowledging the credibility of his moral stance, which he found ironic given their past accusations.
