Siena:Sports broadcaster Ekow Asmah has accused Vincent Ekow Assafuah, the Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, of misleading the public regarding allegations that Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams added four names to a list of 90 individuals submitted by the National Sports Authority (NSA) in connection with Ghana's 2026 World Cup visa scandal.
According to Ghana Web, Asmah stated that the four individuals were flagged separately and were not included in the original list of 90 names sent by the NSA to the Ministry. He emphasized that the NSA did not forward the four names to the Ministry, insisting they were distinct from those on the original list.
Asmah alleged that Assafuah misrepresented the documents by suggesting the four names were part of the original list of 90, a move that the minister accepted. He criticized this as deceptive, noting that none of the four names appeared on the original list.
The broadcaster also criticized Minister Kofi Adams, arguing that he should have verified the information before proceeding and described his actions as negligent. Asmah supports investigations into the matter and believes both Assafuah and the minister should be held accountable.
He called for an investigation into Assafuah's presentation of the documents and urged for greater diligence from the minister in verifying information.
