Accra:Gospel artist Piesie Esther has taken the number one position on the Hot Top 10 Music Chart, surpassing Afro-gospel star Joseph Matthew.
According to Ghana Web, the Hot Top 10 Music Chart on Hot 93.9FM ranks the most popular songs currently dominating the airwaves through significant radio play.
Joseph Matthew, who had maintained the top spot since July with his hit song 'Walk,' known for its urban contemporary style, has now moved to the third position. His presence on the chart had been strong due to substantial radio rotation of his music.
Piesie Esther's rise to the top of the chart in the third week of October comes with her hit single 'Great Change,' which has seen a surge in airplay over the past week. This increase in popularity has propelled the award-winning gospel singer to the forefront of the chart.
Her latest success adds to her acclaimed discography, including popular tracks like 'W'aye Me Yie' and 'Nyame Ye,' reinforcing her status as a leading figure in Ghanaian gospel music. The increase in the song's popularity is attributed to a well-coordinated promotional effort and viral growth.
Currently occupying the second position is the Afrobeats star Mr. Drew with his single 'Steeze,' featuring Medikal.
