Wilmar Africa Donates GHS125,000 to National Cardio Centre for World Heart Day

Accra: Wilmar Africa Limited, a leading manufacturer of household consumer products, has contributed GHS125,000 to the National Cardiothoracic Centre in commemoration of World Heart Day. The donation is part of the company's ongoing Frytol Healthy Heart campaign aimed at enhancing public awareness and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. According to Ghana News Agency, the presentation was made by Mrs. Ewuraba Ekua Adusei, Head of Marketing, and Mr. Solomon Ohene-Owusu, Head of Corporate Affairs at Wilmar Africa. They emphasized that the initiative is a fundamental aspect of the company's commitment to corporate social responsibility, specifically focusing on health and nutrition. Dr. Kow Entsua-Mensah, Director of the National Cardiothoracic Centre, accepted the donation on behalf of the institution, expressing gratitude for Wilmar Africa's consistent support. The Frytol Healthy Heart campaign, which launched in September, employs digital platforms to educate consumers about the importance of nutritious meals, regular exercise, and making healthy lifestyle choices. Activities such as walking, jogging, and skipping are promoted through challenges led by brand ambassador Naa Ashorkor. Additionally, Wilmar Africa organized a health walk and a fun day for its staff and partners, fostering a community of fitness and well-being. The campaign also included recognition and awards for participants engaging in health-promoting activities, both online and in physical fitness centers. In her remarks, Mrs. Adusei stated, "As a major industry player, Wilmar Africa Ltd recognizes the need to produce high-quality products that meet stringent customer standards in a sustainable manner that considers environmental and social interests."
