‘What’s the Goal?’ – Ama Burland Questions Prophet Uche Over Messi Retirement Prophecy

Accra: Social media influencer Ama Burland has taken a swipe at Prophet Eric Boahen Uche after he revisited a prophecy he made ahead of the 2026 World Cup concerning football icons Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Recently, in a viral video, Prophet Uche was seen 'bragging' that his December 31, 2025, prophecy about the retirement of both players had come true, following Messi's official announcement of his exit from international football.

According to Ghana Web, Prophet Uche recounted how he had foretold the retirement of both Ronaldo and Messi, asserting that the players would retire after returning to their hometowns and countries. He emphasized the accuracy of his prophecy, which he claimed was delivered on the significant night of December 31st, the same night he predicted that the World Cup would be won by a European nation, specifically highlighting Spain.

While boasting about the prophecy that had come to pass, Prophet Uche cautioned his congregation not to doubt any of his revelations. He insisted that every prophecy he delivers comes directly from God, describing himself as a mouthpiece through whom God speaks. "I just want you to know that there is God, and God has a mouthpiece called the prophet, and he speaks through them. Don't joke with the word of the prophet because whatever we say, we hear before we say it, and it will happen," he added.

Reacting to the video, Ama Burland questioned the significance of the prophecy, adding that it lacks meaningful impact. According to the social media influencer, she struggles to understand why God would go out of His way to reveal the retirement of football players to the pastor. "This is such a random thing for God to go out of his way to reveal. Like, a football retirement? What's the goal of the revelation?" she quizzed.
