The National Youth Organizer for the main opposition NDC, George Opare Addo has spoken after retaining his seat.

He said the party’s task of wrestling power from the ruling NPP needs a serious effort which is exactly what he will lead the youth wing to do.

The former Akuapem North Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the electorate, particularly his constituents, presidents of the NDC’s Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) for the support.

“My utmost appreciation goes out to you all, especially my constituency and regional youth organisers as well as TEIN presidents. We have a task at hand, and we will execute it in earnest. Thank you, NDC! “#YouthPower,” he said via a tweet on Sunday, December 11.

The incumbent, Mr. Opare Addo, was given stiff competition from Mr. Brogya Gyenfi, making the portfolio one of the most fiercely contested in the ongoing NDC internal elections.

However, after the end of the 10th National Women and Youth Organizers Conference, held at the University of Cape Coast, Central Region, on Saturday, December 10, Mr. Opare Addo pulled 533 votes against Mr. Yaw Brogya Gyenfi’s 508 votes.

Pablo, as he is affectionately called, will be assisted by Mr. Osman Abdulai Ayariga, who pulled 373 votes as against his closest contender, Madam Ruth Dela Sedoh’s 313 votes.
