Egyptian giants Zamalek dished out two first-half goals and one in the second half to Ghana’s Dreams FC to end the latter’s dream of a first continental final.

Dreams FC’s fairytale run in the CAF Confederation Cup ended on Sunday, April 28, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The Still Believe lads lost 3-0 to the visitors in the second leg of their semi-final clash.

The Egyptians progressed to the final by a 3-0 aggregate after a 0-0 stalemate in the first leg of the tie.

Hamza Mathlouthi scored in the 12th minute, and Samson Akinyoola in the 27th minute for Zamalek SC. Mostafa Shalaby’s third goal in the 59th minute sealed the game.

Dreams were unbeaten at home in the competition, holding a record of three wins and a draw.

Dreams FC would have become the third Ghanaian side to qualify for the final joining Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak who achieved the feat in 2004.
