Casablanca: The Black Queens produced a spirited comeback against C´te d'Ivoire in a crucial WAFCON play-off at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca. Ghana fell behind as early as the fourth minute when In¨s Konan converted a penalty to give the Lady Elephants a perfect start.
According to Ghana Web, the Black Queens struggled to find an equaliser before the break but returned from recess with renewed determination. Princess Marfo restored parity for Ghana in the 59th minute before Josephine Bonsu completed the comeback from the penalty spot in the 72nd minute.
Ghana held on to secure a 2-1 victory and advance to the FIFA Women's World Cup 2027 inter-confederation play-offs.
