Bolgatanga: Mr James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, has received the renowned Ghanaian musician and President of BHIM Nation, Stonebwoy, on a courtesy call ahead of his upcoming Independence concert dubbed 'The Torcher Experience.' The visit formed part of preparations toward the musical event, which is expected to headline activities marking Ghana's Independence celebrations in the Volta Region.
According to Ghana News Agency, Stonebwoy, a proud son of the Region, shared his vision of using music as a platform to promote patriotism, inspire national pride, and energise the youth during the Independence season. He noted that hosting the concert at this significant time was intended to rekindle the spirit of unity and nationalism among young people. The occasion is further symbolic as the artiste's birthday falls on March 5, on the eve of Ghana's Independence Day.
Mr Gunu commended Stonebwoy for projecting the Volta Region and Ghana onto the global stage through his music and entrepreneurial drive. He described the artiste as a shining example of excellence and resilience, encouraging him to continue to inspire the younger generation. The Minister said 'The Torcher Experience' went beyond entertainment, describing it as an initiative aimed at reviving regional pride and reinforcing the values of independence, unity, and collective development.
He also acknowledged the support of Mr Gabriel Tanko Kwamigah-Atokple, the Council of State Member for the Volta Region, for his role in backing the initiative. Mr Gunu expressed optimism that the concert would deliver a historic, first-of-its-kind experience in the Region and further position the Volta Region as a hub for culture, creativity, and youth empowerment.
