Accra: MTN Ghana has addressed widespread internet disruptions affecting the country, attributing the issues to damage sustained by undersea cable infrastructure near the coast of Abidjan in Côte d'Ivoire. According to Ghana Web, the telecom company issued a customer notice on June 27, 2026, confirming that the subsea cable cuts are impacting connectivity and data services across Ghana and several other countries in the region. The statement from MTN Ghana indicated that the disruptions are expected to affect both consumers and businesses, particularly those in financial services, e-commerce, digital platforms, and enterprises reliant on cloud-based services for their daily operations. The company has stated that it is in active discussions with its international partners to expedite the resolution of the issue and restore services with minimal delay. MTN Ghana expressed apologies to its customers for the inconvenience caused and assured subscribers that all necessary measures are being taken to return ser vices to normal levels as swiftly as possible.
