Tribe CultureFest CEO Denies $611,000 Visa Fraud Allegations

Accra:The Chief Executive Officer of Tribe CultureFest, Nana Boateng Gyimah, has publicly refuted claims made by Kofi Adams, the Minister of Sports and Recreation, regarding an alleged visa fraud scheme. The minister accused the CEO of illegally receiving $611,000 under an agreement with the National Sports Authority (NSA) to facilitate travel for Ghanaians to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to Ghana Web, Kofi Adams asserted that the funds should be returned as the company failed to secure visas for 90 individuals as promised. However, at a press conference on October 18, 2026, Nana Boateng Gyimah strongly denied these allegations, stating that neither he nor Tribe CultureFest had received such money. He emphasized that any financial arrangements were institutional rather than personal.

Nana Boateng Gyimah also refuted claims that the company charged individuals between $14,000 and $20,000 for travel facilitation. He clarified that their agreement with the NSA involved providing event logistics, travel arrangements, hotel bookings, and transportation services for a fee between $2,000 and $3,000.

During the press conference, Gyimah outlined seven demands, including the request for verifiable evidence and identification of individuals involved in the alleged transactions. He called for details regarding the receipt of funds, the legal basis for any refund, and the parties responsible for authorizing the transactions.
