Teen UG Mathematical Science Student Appeals for Support

Accra: Master Melvin Mawuli Papanii Agboada, a 14-year-old level 100 Mathematical Science student at the University of Ghana, has appealed to well-wishers and organisations to support him in his education.

According to Ghana News Agency, even though Master Agboada's parents are currently covering his educational expenses, as civil servants, they may struggle to fully support his aspirations of becoming a robotic engineer. He has found that pursuing further education outside Ghana is necessary to reach his career goals, which will require significant financial resources and access to practical materials.

Master Agboada aims to apply his future training to create innovative solutions for Ghana's unique challenges, particularly in the health sector. He expressed a desire to leverage mathematical science to address global issues and emphasized the need for advanced machines to aid patients in the health care system. He is committed to inventing devices such as artificial kidneys to assist individuals with kidney-related conditions.

The young student gained recognition after being admitted to the University of Ghana at age 14, following his success in the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). His exceptional academic abilities led to him advancing through his basic education at an accelerated pace.
