Accra: Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh, engaged in an exchange with Shamima Muslim, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson, on Metro TV's Good Morning Ghana. The clash centered on criticisms of the administration led by President John Dramani Mahama, with both sides trading words over policies, economic management, and recruitment in the health sector.
According to Ghana Web, Tetteh accused the Mahama-led government of failing to deliver on promises, particularly regarding automatic recruitment of nurses and teachers, and questioned the administration's economic record. He argued that the government's own ministers had exposed weaknesses in its policies. Tetteh highlighted statements from the health minister about the financial constraints hindering recruitment despite existing vacancies.
Tetteh further criticized the Mahama administration's handling of infrastructure projects, insisting that the current government had to complete abandoned initiatives such as e-block schools and Agenda 111 facilities. He emphasized that government is a continuum and pointed out that some projects initiated by the previous administration were left incomplete.
