Accra: Head of Communications at Burniton Music Group, Vida Adutwumwaa Boateng, has revealed that Stonebwoy's 2024 track 'Believe in Africa' was authored by Gabby Otchere-Darko of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to Ghana Web, during an Adom TV interview on March 28, 2026, Vida elaborated that Stonebwoy was commissioned to craft a song for the Africa Prosperity Dialogue event. Gabby Otchere-Darko, known for his writing skills, composed the lyrics for the song, which Stonebwoy later performed at a gathering of African leaders in Ghana.
The song's origin was highlighted in the context of Stonebwoy's comments at the Black Stars World Cup Fundraiser at the Kempinski Hotel on March 21, 2026, where he mentioned that another of his songs, 'Jejereje', played a role in the National Democratic Congress's (NDC) 2024 election victory. This remark prompted reactions from New Patriotic Party members, who alleged that Stonebwoy was aligning with the NDC.
In contrast, during the NPP's tenure, some National Democratic Congress members had also claimed that Stonebwoy was affiliated with the NPP, calling him 'Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko's boy' and 'Gyankroma Akufo-Addo's buddy', pointing to his associations with these figures.
