Accra: Star Oil has announced an increase in the pump prices of petrol and diesel by GHS0.30 per litre, effective from Sunday, July 26, 2026. This adjustment reflects the company's response to the rising international petroleum product prices and fluctuations in the exchange rate.
According to Ghana Web, Star Oil has decided to keep its RON 95 petrol price unchanged at GHS16.75 per litre. However, motorists will see a GHS0.30 per litre increase for both petrol and diesel compared to the previous pricing period. With this change, Star Oil becomes one of the first major oil marketing companies to adjust fuel prices during the current pricing window.
As of Saturday, leading oil marketing companies like GOIL have not announced any changes to their pump prices, maintaining existing rates for the time being. This development implies that motorists who fill up at Star Oil stations will incur higher fuel costs starting July 26, while customers of other major oil marketing companies will continue to pay the current prices until further reviews.
Fuel prices in Ghana are reviewed periodically and are influenced by international crude oil prices, refined petroleum product prices, the performance of the cedi against major foreign currencies, and other market conditions.
