Under the distinguished auspices of His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, and Her Majesty Nana Konadu Yiadom III, Asantehemaa, the Manhyia Palace stood witness to a historical event: the commemoration of Asanteman Queen Mothers’ Day.

Hosted by media personality Stacy Amoateng, the event, which was held on Monday, April 22, 2024, served as a tribute to the rich cultural heritage of the Asante people and a platform to honour the invaluable contributions of the queen mothers to their communities.

At the heart of the celebration was the showcasing of indigenous Asante delicacies, a testament to the culinary prowess of the Asante people. This culinary showcase, falling under the Feast Ghana Initiative by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, highlighted the rich array of flavours that define Ghanaian cuisine.

Moreover, this gathering held particular significance as part of the series of events commemorating the 25th anniversary of Asantehene’s reign. It symbol
ized a moment of unity, reflection, and celebration for the Asante Kingdom, showcasing the enduring legacy of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The presence of the Chief of Staff as the Special Guest of Honour underscored the significance of this occasion, further elevating its importance on the national stage.

Stacy Amoateng, renowned for her commitment to promoting Ghanaian culture and heritage, served as the perfect host for this illustrious gathering.

In a social media post, she mentioned that central to the success of this event was the diligent planning and coordination led by Nana Agjakoma Difie II, Mamponghemaa, who spearheaded the planning committee with dedication.

“This was beautifully executed; I am humbled to be called to serve,” she stated.
