St. paul: The St. Paul Kpehe Credit Cooperative Credit Union has donated 25 dual school desks to Experimental School One to support teaching and learning at the Ayawaso Central Constituency. The presentation, held on the school's premises, is part of the Credit Union's corporate social responsibility initiatives aimed at improving educational infrastructure within the community.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Kenneth Louis Morton, Treasurer of the Credit Union, presented the items on behalf of the Board and stated that the gesture was to assist the school in addressing some of its furniture challenges. He expressed the Board's pleasure in making the donation and hoped it would support academic work and provide comfort for the pupils. Mr. Morton emphasized the Union's commitment to supporting community development, particularly in education, which he described as a critical pillar for national growth.
Mr. Gideon Mensah, PTA Chairman of Experimental School One, expressed appreciation to the Credit Union for their support. He highlighted the positive impact the desks would have on teaching and learning at the school and assured that the school authorities and the Parent-Teacher Association would ensure proper maintenance of the desks. Mr. Mensah also called on other corporate bodies and benevolent organizations to follow the Credit Union's example by extending support to the school.
Present at the ceremony were Mr. Bernard Okai, Manager of St. Paul Kpehe Credit Cooperative Credit Union; Dr. Thomas Mensah Abobi, Board Chairman; and Mr. Michael Atitsogbui, Supervisory Committee Officer of the Union. The school management described the donation as timely, noting that additional classroom furniture would help reduce congestion and create a more conducive environment for effective teaching and learning. The management, on behalf of the headmistress, staff, pupils, PTA, and local education authorities, conveyed their heartfelt gratitude to the Credit Union for the intervention.
