St Francis College of Education Supports Flood-Affected Battor RC School with Books and Cash

HOHOE: Students of the Battor Roman Catholic (RC) School, affected by the Akosombo Dam spillage, have received significant support from the St Francis College of Education (FRANCO) in Hohoe. The College donated 200 branded exercise books and a cash amount of GHS10,000 to assist the school in continuing its educational activities.

Dr. Adwoa Kwegyiriba, Principal of the College, led the donation, stating that it was part of FRANCO’s Corporate Social Responsibility. The support reflects the College’s dedication to nurturing education even in challenging circumstances.

According to Ghana News Agency, the initiative aims to provide immediate assistance and convey a message of solidarity and resilience in the pursuit of education.

The College plans to extend more support to other schoolchildren in the affected area in the coming weeks. Mamagah Asieku V of Battor received the items on behalf of Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency. She expressed gratitude to the College’s management, assuring that the donation would benefit every student.
