Juba: A small passenger plane has crashed in South Sudan, killing all 14 people on board. The aircraft was en route from the town of Yei to the capital Juba, some 130 kilometres away, the East African country's aviation authority said on Monday. Radio contact was lost shortly after take-off.
According to Ghana News Agency, preliminary reports from the aviation authority indicate that bad weather and poor visibility were likely factors contributing to the crash. The victims include 12 South Sudanese and two Kenyan nationals.
The aircraft, a Cessna 208 Caravan, was operated by CityLink Aviation. The airline could not initially be reached for comment.
