South Korea national team head coach, Paulo Bento has disclosed that his outfit and Ghana are underdogs in group H of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The former Portuguese tactician was present for the draw held in Doha, Qatar, on Friday, April 1, 2022.
“When you come to the finals of a World Cup draw, you can’t expect an easy draw. It’s not polite, it’s believing in miracles that doesn’t exist,” the 52-year-old coach shared in an interview with Antena 1 shortly after the draw.
He added, “Being a difficult group for us, I believe Portugal and Uruguay are favourites, from the start. Most people will agree.”
Nonetheless, Coach Paul Bento who has been in charge of the South Korea national team since 2018 has set his sight on guiding his side to give their best at this year’s global showpiece.
Ghana will play South Korea on the 28th of November 2021, four days after their opening group match against Portugal.
The last time Ghana played South Korea was in a friendly before the 2014 world cup in Brazil which Ghana won by 4 goals to nil.
