Showboy Cautions Abu Trica Over Social Media Posts

Accra: Ghanaian musician Showboy has issued a warning to Abu Trica following some social media posts he made after his release from police custody. In a video circulating online, Showboy advised Abu Trica to tread carefully and avoid actions that could further complicate his case. “You want to tell the world you’re back. Abu, you’re strong, you’re a gangster, you’re smart, but right now you’re being childish, so be careful,” he cautioned.

According to Ghana Web, Showboy stressed that Abu Trica should understand that his issue is now between him and the United States of America, making it important for him to remain calm instead of flaunting his current freedom on social media. “You’re going against the United States of America if no one has told you. When you get to America, you will realize your case is United States of America versus you, so cool down,” he added.

Abu Trica, whose real name is Frederick Kumi, was released from custody on Friday, May 15, 2026, after successfully meeting the stringent bail conditions of GHS30 million with two sureties. He had been detained since December 2025 in connection with an ongoing U.S. extradition case involving an alleged $8 million romance scam and money laundering.
