Manso-Nseina:One person has died, and a police officer was injured in a shooting incident at Manso-Nseina in the Ashanti Region. The incident took place on Thursday, October 16, 2026, when a mob attacked a police team, demanding the release of a suspect arrested for a narcotics-related offense.
According to Ghana Web, the Ashanti South Regional Police Command has restored calm in the community following the confrontation. The body of the deceased has been sent to the morgue for preservation and autopsy, while the injured officer is receiving medical care.
The police statement noted that the Regional Commander, along with a team of officers, visited the scene and met with community leaders. Security measures have been heightened in the area as investigations into the incident continue.
