Sarkodie Advocates for Minimal Mixing in Music Production

Accra:Rapper Sarkodie has voiced his preference for minimal mixing in his musical productions, emphasizing that excessive technical adjustments can strip a song of its natural essence and originality.

According to Ghana Web, the award-winning musician expressed concern that sound engineers often prioritize technical perfection to the detriment of the emotional and creative qualities that initially make a song special.

Sarkodie shared his perspective on the social media platform X, in response to a netizen's post featuring an interview with music group R2Bees on the YouTube channel Nandoleaks. In the interview, R2Bees discussed Sarkodie's unique approach to music production, highlighting his preference for songs that are not heavily mixed, using popular tracks like "You Go Kill Me" and "Baby" as examples.

The rapper concurred with R2Bees' observations, stating that over-mixing can diminish the natural attributes that attract listeners. He explained that the melody, lyrics, and emotions that inspire an artist during creation should be preserved, as excessive mixing can sometimes lead to the loss of these vital elements.
