Dansoman:Ghanaian dancehall legend Samini has clarified his decision to avoid participating in X Spaces and TikTok Live events. He expressed his views during the launch of the Samini Xperience 2026, Dansoman Edition, held on Friday, October 16, 2026, as he gears up to bring his signature concert back to Dansoman for the festive season.
According to Ghana Web, Samini stated he does not intend to engage on these platforms, preferring not to give individuals an opportunity to disrespect him. He mentioned that the dynamics of celebrity-fan interactions have transformed significantly over the years, with social media making it easier for individuals to attack public figures anonymously.
Samini reminisced about a time when fans had limited direct access to their favorite stars, requiring effort and sometimes payment to see them perform live. He noted that it was once challenging for fans to approach major stars disrespectfully, a stark contrast to today’s digital age where anyone can join an online conversation and insult celebrities without facing traditional barriers.
The musician emphasized that social media’s easy access has led some to feel entitled to speak to established musicians disrespectfully. Consequently, he is reluctant to participate in online conversations that may open him up to such treatment.
Nevertheless, Samini acknowledged that he is not entirely closing off the possibility of joining X Spaces or TikTok Live. He indicated he might consider it if the engagement aligns with his professional goals and adds value to his craft. Any participation would be carefully planned, with his team likely selecting contributors who could positively impact the discussions and related projects.
