TAMALE: Reverend Peter Enibo Gagara, the Northern Regional Director of Missions of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), marked his 60th birthday by donating essential items to two medical units at the Tamale Teaching Hospital. The donation, aimed at supporting healthcare delivery, included medical supplies and equipment to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the Neurosurgical Unit. According to Ghana News Agency, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit received syringes, needles, a gallon of methylated spirit, disposable gloves, cannulae, sanitizer, diapers, wipes, and baby food. Meanwhile, the Neurosurgical Unit was gifted two flat-screen televisions to aid its operations. Reverend Gagara was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Comfort Gagara, as well as members of the Kingdom Temple of ICGC in Tamale, during the donation. Reverend Gagara expressed that this gesture was a commemoration of divine faithfulness over his life and ministry. Reflecting on a life-threatening road accident in 2014, from which he wa s miraculously saved at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra, he emphasized the importance of expressing gratitude and supporting healthcare professionals. He noted that while the original intent was to donate to the hospital in Accra, he chose Tamale Teaching Hospital due to its proximity and his connection to the community. Dr. Adam Abass, Head of the Neurosurgical Unit at Tamale Teaching Hospital, accepted the donation and lauded Reverend Gagara's generosity. Dr. Abass highlighted the timely nature of the support for the units and appealed to other NGOs and philanthropists to provide further assistance, including monitors, microscopes, anesthesia, and x-ray machines, to enhance healthcare services.
