Vienna: The Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Raymond Archer, has described partnerships between law enforcement agencies and responsible private companies as essential in tackling organised financial crime. His remarks come as the partnership between EOCO and QNET gained international recognition during the inaugural UNODC-INTERPOL Global Fraud Summit in Vienna.
According to Ghana Web, QNET has formally endorsed the Global Public-Private Partnership Framework Against Fraud, joining a coalition of governments, international organisations, financial institutions, technology companies, and other stakeholders committed to strengthening the fight against organised fraud, recruitment scams, human trafficking, and related financial crimes. The endorsement followed the launch of the framework at the UNODC-INTERPOL Global Fraud Summit on July 22, 2026, where QNET was listed by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) among the organisations supporting the initiative.
The framework promotes intelligence sharing, investigations, prevention, victim support, and innovation. The QNET-EOCO partnership was presented at the summit as a model of effective public-private cooperation in combating recruitment fraud, human trafficking, and the criminal misuse of legitimate brands. The collaboration also received further recognition during the Regional Case Coordination Workshop on "Model Q," organised by EOCO and INTERPOL in Accra, which brought together investigators and prosecutors from across West Africa.
QNET Chief Executive Officer Mattias Mildenborn emphasized the necessity of a united response to combat cross-border criminal networks. "The criminal networks behind today's fraud schemes do not operate in isolation, and neither can the response," he stated. "Our experience working alongside authorities such as Ghana's EOCO has demonstrated the value of trusted public-private collaboration in disrupting organised criminal networks and protecting vulnerable communities," he added.
The partnership between EOCO and QNET was established in 2025 through a Memorandum of Understanding covering intelligence sharing, investigative cooperation, public awareness, and victim support.
