Accra:Prof Charles Marfo, the former Provost of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, has expressed his views on Dr. Bossman Asare's resignation from his role as Deputy Chairperson of the Electoral Commission. Prof Marfo believes that Dr. Asare's decision to step down was wise, as remaining in the position would have subjected him to ongoing pressure.
According to Ghana Web, Prof Marfo stated in an interview on Oyerepa TV that Dr. Asare's resignation was a strategic decision. He suggested that continued service at the Electoral Commission would have led to relentless criticism and scrutiny for Dr. Asare.
Prof Marfo praised Dr. Asare's choice to resign, acknowledging that it likely spared him from undue stress and allowed him to possibly benefit from resignation packages. He further speculated that Dr. Asare might have come to realize that accepting the deputy chairperson position was not the right decision initially.
