President Mahama to Attend World Governments Summit in Dubai on Special UAE Aircraft

Dubai: President John Dramani Mahama will travel to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Sunday, February 1, 2026, ahead of his state visit to Zambia, according to a press release by the Presidency Communications.

According to Ghana Web, the release stated that the president's trip to Dubai is at the invitation of the ruler of the UAE, to enable him to participate in the World Governments Summit 2026, scheduled to take place from February 2 to 4. President Mahama is expected to join global leaders, policymakers, and development experts at the summit, which focuses on governance, innovation, and strategies for addressing global challenges.

A special aircraft provided by the ruler of the UAE will convey President Mahama and his delegation to Dubai and subsequently transport them to Zambia to begin the three-day State Visit from February 4 to 6, 2026. Government sources say the arrangement reflects the cordial relations between Ghana and the United Arab Emirates and underscores the importance of the engagements lined up for the president during the trip.

The president's participation in the World Governments Summit will precede high-level bilateral engagements in Zambia, where he is expected to hold talks with President Hakainde Hichilema, address the Zambian National Assembly, and engage members of the Ghanaian community in Lusaka.
