Bongo: President John Dramani Mahama has nominated Madam Diana Asoketarige Ayamga for appointment as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Bongo District Assembly in the Upper East Region. This significant nomination was confirmed in a statement signed by Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim, the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, and issued to the Ghana News Agency.
According to Ghana News Agency, the nomination is in alignment with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended. The nomination process was initiated following a formal communication from the Office of the President. However, it is important to note that the appointment is still subject to the approval of the District Assembly.
