President Mahama Expands Mini-Stadium Project Across Ghana

Prampram: President John Dramani Mahama has decided to increase the number of mini-stadiums to be constructed across Ghana from six to ten, as announced by the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams. According to Ghana Web, Adams made this announcement at the 32nd Ordinary Session of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Congress held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. The expansion of the project will now cover ten regions instead of the initially planned six. Adams explained the President's decision to expand the construction of mini-stadiums, stating, "His Excellency has reviewed his decision and he is no more going to build the six mini-stadiums, he is going to build ten." The regions identified for these developments include Western North, Oti, Ahafo, Bono East, Savannah, North East, Upper East, Upper West, and Volta, with an additional location to be selected to complete the ten-region plan. The mini-stadiums will not only serve as venues for sports but will also include a dditional facilities to be comprehensive sporting centers for their communities. Adams also mentioned that the Finance Minister has granted commencement authorization for the project, and the government is currently working on awarding the necessary contracts. This initiative is part of a broader government effort to enhance sports infrastructure and promote grassroots sports development throughout Ghana. By increasing access to sporting facilities, the project aims to provide improved venues for football and other sports, benefitting communities nationwide.
