Damongo: President John Dramani Mahama has commissioned the Mahama ICT Centre in Damongo, describing the facility as complementary to the Government's Basic Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (BSTEM) programme.
According to Ghana News Agency, the commissioning formed part of the President's two-day Resetting Ghana Tour of the Savannah Region. A statement issued by the Presidency noted that the President emphasized the Centre's role in supporting practical learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, particularly in information and communications technology, following the rollout of the BSTEM programme in the region.
He expressed satisfaction that the facility is powered entirely by solar energy, referring to it as a 'green lab' that aligns with sustainable development goals.
