Accra: President John Dramani Mahama has commended the Ghana Gold Board for its strong financial performance during the 2026 Governing Boards and CEOs Conference organised by the State Interests and Governance Authority. Highlighting the growth of the institution, President Mahama revealed that GoldBod recorded a net profit of approximately GHS896.5 million in the latest financial period, representing a significant leap from the GHS178.5 million recorded in 2024.
According to Ghana Web, speaking at the conference, the President stated that the performance reflects the strategic importance of building transparent, accountable, and nationally beneficial structures around Ghana's gold trade. While describing the financial turnaround as encouraging, President Mahama emphasised that maintaining sustained performance over time remains the ultimate test for the board's management and leadership.
