The victory took place at the UG Premier Domes in a gripping finale, where PRESEC outperformed two-time champions St. Augustine's College and grand finale newcomers Accra Academy.
According to Ghana News Agency, this win marks a significant comeback for PRESEC, who had previously suffered quarter-final exits in 2024 and 2025 after their last triumph in 2023. The competition was fierce, but PRESEC emerged victorious in a contest that saw them reclaim the prestigious academic trophy.
The final saw a thrilling start with St. Augustine's College and Accra Academy tied in the first round, but PRESEC caught up by the second round. By the end of the third round, PRESEC took the lead and maintained it throughout the True/False round, ultimately securing their win in the round of riddles.
PRESEC's victory is not just about reclaiming the title; it cements their legacy in the NSMQ with a record-breaking ninth win. Meanwhile, Accra Academy's impressive performance in their debut grand finale positions them as future contenders, despite finishing second. St. Augustine's College, on the other hand, faced disappointment for the third consecutive year, finishing third.
