Agona nsaba: The Ebenezer Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Agona Nsaba held a retirement service to honor Mr. George Owusu Asomaning and Mr. Daniel Kwabena Nyarko, two agents who served the Nsaba District for over two decades in challenging conditions.
According to Ghana News Agency, both retirees, aged over 80, dedicated their lives to serving remote communities in the Nsaba District, often overcoming difficult road networks and other challenges. Reverend Christian Yeboah Nyarko, Pastor-in-Charge of the Duakwa Congregation, delivered the sermon, praising their devotion and urging the youth to follow their example of selfless service.
Mr. Asomaning, 81, spent more than 30 years establishing Presbyterian churches across various villages in the Agona Nsaba District. After retiring from official service in 2005, he became Secretary to the Men's Fellowship at the Ebenezer Congregation and later helped establish a church at Kokoado, serving as its caretaker until December 2024. His efforts led to the mobilization of residents to build a congregation and initiate the construction of a Presbyterian chapel.
Mr. Nyarko, 85, served the village of KwesiPentil for over 22 years, where he nurtured the congregation and strengthened the church's presence. Rising from the youngest Presbyter to the Senior Presbyter, he facilitated the construction of a wall around the Ebenezer Congregation premises at Agona Nsaba.
In recognition of their service, the congregation presented plaques and cash to the retirees, celebrating their contributions to the Church's growth.
