Accra: The Petroleum Commission and Kosmos Energy Ghana have come together to sign an important agreement that will see the secondment of some engineers from the Commission to Kosmos Energy's facility located in Houston, Texas, USA. This initiative is a significant step in the Commission's ongoing efforts to enhance the skills and technical expertise of its workforce, aiming to effectively regulate and support the upstream petroleum industry in Ghana.
According to Ghana Web, the agreement will allow these engineers to gain valuable hands-on experience with international industry practices and specialised technical operations during their time in Houston. The Petroleum Commission believes that this exposure will significantly enhance the engineers' technical knowledge, thereby strengthening the institution's overall capacity.
Both the Petroleum Commission and Kosmos Energy have underscored the critical role of partnerships in building technical capacity and advancing Ghana's petroleum sector.
