Paul Afoko Appeals to NPP Base to Back His ‘Second Coming’

Accra: Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman, Paul Afoko, has appealed to the party's Greater Accra Regional Executives to set aside emotions and support his bid to aid in the NPP's recovery and return to power. Afoko made this appeal during his engagement with the Greater Accra Regional Executives, emphasizing the necessity for strategic thinking and youth mobilisation for the 2028 general elections.

According to Ghana Web, Afoko stressed the importance of unity and strategic planning to seize the upcoming political opportunities, referencing the party's success in 2016 when it unseated an incumbent president. He urged the executives to support him based on his track record, highlighting the need to harness the party's potential for positive impact on Ghanaians.

Afoko called for unity across the party, noting the presence of NPP supporters in various regions. He clarified that the pursuit of power is aimed at positively affecting the lives of Ghanaians and changing the country's direction. In his appeal, Afoko noted that even silent support or prayers from the executives would be appreciated.

The engagement is part of Afoko's ongoing consultations with party structures nationwide as the NPP gears up for rebuilding efforts following its electoral defeat.
