Accra:Ghana Former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has revealed that more than 400 coaches have expressed interest in the vacant Black Stars coaching position.
According to Ghana Web, the majority of these applicants are currently unemployed and are keen to return to the management scene. The coaches are reportedly attracted by Ghana's strong reputation in international football and the team's distinctive style of play.
A committee has been formed to recommend the most suitable candidate for the role. This committee was established after discussions between GFA leadership and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation in Accra. The panel is chaired by former GFA Vice-President Fred Pappoe, who is experienced in football administration and governance.
Pappoe is joined by four other members Anthony Baffoe, the General Secretary of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) and a former Ghana international; Agbesi Dzakpasu, a legal practitioner and football administrator; Stephen Appiah, a former Black Stars captain; and Faisal Chibsah, a high-performance specialist. Their task is to identify and evaluate potential candidates to recommend the most suitable individual for the coaching job.
