Kumasi: Over 3,000 pastors' wives participated in the Assemblies of God, Ghana's Biennial National Ministers' Wives Conference held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi. The event focused on reinforcing core Christian values and resisting doctrines that deviate from the fundamental teachings of Christianity.
According to Ghana Web, Rev Stephen Yenusom Wengam, the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God, Ghana, emphasized the importance of defending the sound principles that define the Church of Jesus Christ. Addressing the conference, themed 'The Faith of Our Fathers in Action' based on John 14:12, Rev Wengam urged pastors' wives to demonstrate 'audacious faith' in safeguarding the church's doctrines.
Rev Wengam encouraged the Christian community to pass on authentic faith to future generations through proactive evangelism and church planting in areas yet to be reached. He used the biblical example of the three Hebrew children who defied King Nebuchadnezzar's decree to worship a false god as an illustration of steadfast faith.
Dr Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, served as the Special Guest of Honour. She advised attendees to deepen their faith and maintain church structures that facilitate spiritual growth.
Lady Monica Wengam, National President of the Ministers' Wives Association, motivated pastors' wives to mirror Sarah's faith and patience in awaiting God's promises. She announced the completion of a GHS400,000 legacy temple in the Afram Plains, funded by the association, and revealed plans for further church planting and temple construction projects.
The conference featured discussions on mental health, nutrition, family building, and the role of pastors' wives in fostering church growth through social skills. Additional sessions highlighted the importance of executive presence and drawing inspiration from the unwavering faith of early Christian leaders.
