Omotola Jalade Credits Husband Matthew Ekeinde for Marriage Success

Lagos: Popular Nigerian actress Omotola Jalade has openly credited her husband, Matthew Ekeinde, for playing a pivotal role in sustaining their marriage over the years. In a recent interview, the actress revealed that her husband's ability to manage their relationship, despite the pressures of her fame, has been instrumental in keeping their union strong.

According to Ghana Web, Omotola emphasized that her husband deserves more credit for the success of their marriage than she does, acknowledging the unique challenges he faces due to her celebrity status. "My husband should be given more credit for keeping this marriage together than me, and that's the truth. As the man, he has more pressure than me. I'm the famous one, even though he's also famous now. He's the one at the receiving end," she remarked.

Omotola praised Matthew for his maturity and the exceptional way he handles their relationship, noting that he does things she has come to realize many men do not do. "He gets the praises and he's the one everything falls back on. He has managed himself and me very well, and he has managed this union very well. He's a very mature person, and there's so much he does that I've come to realise a lot of men don't do," she stated.

In addition to discussing her marriage, Omotola highlighted the differences in relationships and emphasized that there is no universal formula for maintaining a successful marriage. "The truth of the matter is that every relationship is not the same, so it's not one size fits all. People are different and experiences are different. What we can do is tell you how you can manage the peculiarities because at the end of the day, it takes two," she explained.

Omotola also admitted that she considers herself the more challenging partner in their marriage and commended her husband for his ability to handle her personality. "You can be a very bad person, but things can change with the way I handle that, unless it's an extreme situation. In my relationship, I'm the difficult one and I've seen how he's been able to handle me," she shared.

She concluded by expressing gratitude for her husband, stating that she may not have been able to marry another man because of her personality. "I used to say that if I wasn't married to my husband, no other man could have handled me because I know myself," she added.
