Okai Mintah Declares Intent to Contest for NDC National Youth Organizer Position

Accra: Emmanuel Okai Mintah has declared his intention to contest for the position of National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He pledges to build a stronger, more organised, and opportunity-driven youth wing ahead of the 2028 general elections. According to Ghana Web, Mintah expressed his commitment to the party in a statement titled, "Reclaiming the Future: A Declaration of Intent for the Office of National Youth Organizer, National Democratic Congress," on June 29, 2026. He described the NDC as his life's work, emphasizing his dedication to building the party and its youth wing from the grassroots to the national level. Mintah highlighted his journey within the party, stating, "The NDC is not just a party to me; it is my life's work and my purpose." Mintah, who currently serves as Chairperson of the National Youth Working Committee and Head of Operations for the National Youth Wing Campaign 2024, emphasized the need for decisive action and renewed focus on the welfare of young party members. He stressed the importance of the National Youth Organizer's role in actively advocating for opportunities for the youth base of the party. He outlined his vision, which includes establishing a Correspondence Desk System to address complaints, concerns, and requests from young party members. Mintah also promised to intensify activities on university campuses and among branches of the Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN), with a focus on preparing for the 2028 elections. Mintah committed to collaborating with government appointees to create opportunities for young party members and ensuring that appointees remain focused on their mandates. He emphasized that creating opportunities for the youth is crucial for securing victory in the 2028 elections. In a critique of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mintah described the NPP's youth wing as lacking vitality and innovation. He asserted that the NDC would outwork its opponents to secure a decisive victory in the upcoming general elections.
