NPP-USA New York Chapter Mourns Tragic Death of 15-Year-Old Javits Frimpong

New York:The leadership of the NPP-USA New York Chapter, led by Chairman Frank Antwi, has extended their condolences to the family of the late Javits Badu Nkansah Frimpong. Javits, a 15-year-old Ghanaian boy, was tragically murdered, a loss that has resonated deeply within the Ghanaian community in New York and beyond.

According to Ghana Web, Javits was fatally shot on October 29, 2026, while reportedly on his way to school in the Bronx, New York. Authorities reported he suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Javits had moved from Ghana to the United States about a year ago to join his father, Thomas Frimpong, seeking better educational prospects. In the aftermath, his father revealed that Javits had faced bullying at school, and two students had recently been suspended following an incident involving him. Investigators have yet to establish any connection between the bullying and Javits's shooting, but the situation has prompted serious concerns.

During their condolence visit, the NPP-USA New York Chapter facilitated a special call from former Ghanaian Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to Javits's father, offering sympathy and support. This gesture provided some comfort to the grieving family, highlighting the importance of community solidarity in times of tragedy.

The NPP-USA New York Chapter has called for a thorough investigation by the New York Police Department and relevant authorities into the circumstances of Javits's death. They emphasize the need for every lead, including the bullying allegations, to be examined to ensure justice is served.

The Chapter also urged the Ghanaian community and civil society organizations to support the Frimpong family in their quest for justice. They commended the Chapter's leadership for their demonstration of humanity and compassion beyond political lines.

The community hopes for strength and comfort for Javits's family and that his soul may rest in peace.
