NPP Seeks Visionary and Trustworthy Flagbearer for 2028 Elections – Acting Chairman

Dzodze: Mr. Mac-Thomson Gbeti, the Acting Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ketu North Constituency, has announced that the party is in search of a flagbearer with vision, credibility, and broad appeal to lead it into the 2028 general elections.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Gbeti emphasized that the ideal candidate should possess visionary ideas, good temperament, and a strong connection with Ghanaians. He highlighted the importance of selecting someone trustworthy and well-positioned to market the party's policies and vision for national development. Mr. Gbeti shared these views during an interview after casting his vote at the ongoing nationwide NPP presidential primary in Dzodze.

Mr. Gbeti described the atmosphere at the polling center as peaceful and orderly, which he attributed to the party's commitment to its democratic traditions and core values. Despite maintaining neutrality in his official capacity, he exercised his right to vote like other delegates. He underscored the party's belief in its ideologies and tradition of unity, expressing hope that members would rally behind the chosen candidate to form a united front.

Reflecting on the party's past challenges, Mr. Gbeti expressed confidence in the NPP's ability to rebound, attributing previous electoral setbacks to internal issues affecting voter turnout. He believed that party members had learned valuable lessons and would be fully prepared for the 2028 polls. The choice of a flagbearer, he noted, would be crucial in presenting a compelling alternative to the opposition, with the focus on selecting the best candidate to lead the party back to power.

Mr. Gbeti reported that the voting process was proceeding smoothly and as expected, with the goal of emerging united and ready to work together for victory in 2028. Meanwhile, as of 1000 hours, a total of 311 delegates had cast their votes.
