Accra: Mrs. Irene Naa Torshie Addo, former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and former Member of Parliament for Tema West, has urged delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to vote for presidential hopeful Kennedy Ohene Agyapong when they go to the polls on Saturday, January 31. She emphasized that Mr. Agyapong, a former Assin Central MP, embodies the leadership qualities that Ghana currently needs. According to Ghana News Agency, the NPP, the largest opposition party, is preparing for its Election 2028 Presidential Primary to elect a flagbearer for the upcoming 2028 General Election. In the lead-up to this significant event, Mr. Agyapong and four other presidential aspirants signed a peace pact on Thursday, January 22. This agreement commits them to unity, respect for party processes, and support for the eventual winner. The other aspirants include former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Abetifi MP and former Food and Agriculture Minister Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Bosomtwe MP and former Education Minis ter Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong. During a campaign tour to the Atebubu/Amantin constituency of the Bono East Region, Naa Torshie Addo addressed the delegates, highlighting the need for a leader who is compassionate and firm. She stressed that the NPP requires a leader with a kind heart and valor, someone who is fearless and courageous. She expressed her belief that Ghana needs a businessman as President to drive transformation, asserting that Mr. Agyapong fits these qualities due to his philanthropic work and reputation. Naa Torshie Addo emphasized the importance of prioritizing leadership with integrity and hard work to regain political power in the 2028 election. She pointed out that a majority of Ghanaian voters favor Kennedy Agyapong and expressed confidence that his leadership could lead the NPP to victory in the Election 2028. She urged the delegates to vote for Mr. Agyapong in the supreme interest of the party and Ghanaians as a whole.
