Dzodze: Traders selling New Patriotic Party (NPP) paraphernalia in the Volta Region have reported an increase in sales, suggesting the party is making significant gains in an area traditionally dominated by the National Democratic Congress (NDC). This development comes amid campaign efforts by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP's presidential candidate, who toured the region to present their vision for Ghana's future. According to Ghana News Agency, vendors, primarily women, selling NPP-branded items such as T-shirts, hats, and flags, noted a surprising surge in demand for their products. Madam Emelia Frimpong, a trader who traveled from Kumasi, expressed her astonishment at the change in the political landscape, stating that selling NPP merchandise was previously challenging in the Volta Region. She highlighted the increasing acceptance of the party in areas such as Hohoe, Afadzato, and Dzodze. Madam Gina Effia, who showcased her goods at a rally in Aflao, described the current business enviro nment as encouraging, attributing it to the NPP's growing popularity. This sentiment was echoed by attendees like Mr. Noble Ali Alhassan, who expressed optimism about Ketu North voting for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP in the upcoming December elections, believing it would drive development in the constituency and the nation. Furthermore, Mr. Francis Bakpa, an NPP member, urged residents of Ketu South to shift their political loyalty from the NDC to the NPP, citing the need for change to facilitate development. Mr. Samuel Wisdom Doe Haligah, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Ketu South, also encouraged constituents to reconsider their longstanding support for the NDC and to engage with the NPP's message of progress.
