Accra: The largest opposition political party in Ghana, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has announced the expulsion of two prominent members, Ernest Owusu Bempah and Kevin Taylor, citing gross misconduct and anti-party activities.
According to Ghana Web, this decision was communicated through a statement by the party's General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong. The statement emphasized that the actions of Ernest Owusu Bempah, a former Deputy National Communications Officer of the NPP, and Kevin Taylor, a broadcaster, consistently undermined the party's leadership.
The statement, shared by Radio Tamale, clarified that the expulsion was in line with the NPP's Constitution and the principles of discipline, loyalty, and unity. It accused the two individuals of public attacks on the party and behavior inconsistent with the party's values and integrity.
The NPP highlighted that the decision followed due process, including consultations with relevant party organs and adherence to specific articles of the party's Constitution. The party reiterated its commitment to discipline, unity, and the collective vision of building a strong and prosperous Ghana.
