Accra: Intercity STC Coaches Ltd has denied reports that passengers died in Monday's accident involving one of its buses travelling from Accra to Kumasi, insisting that everyone on board survived.
According to Ghana Web, the company issued a public notice on Tuesday addressing the circulation of inaccurate information following an interview attributed to the driver, which suggested that only 10 passengers survived the crash. "Intercity STC wishes to state categorically that this information is false and does not reflect the actual situation," the company asserted in their statement.
The company further clarified that "all passengers and crew members on board survived the accident." It emphasized that passengers who sustained injuries received necessary medical attention and were discharged on Monday.
STC underscored its commitment to passenger and staff safety, stating it is collaborating with relevant authorities to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident. The company pledged to provide further verified information when necessary and reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining high standards of safety, reliability, and customer care across its operations.
The announcement aimed to reassure the public and stakeholders about the integrity of the company's safety measures, as well as to correct the misinformation that had circulated in the wake of the incident.
