Ningo-prampram: The Ningo-Prampram District Assembly (NiPDA), in partnership with the Ningo-Prampram District Education Directorate, organized a parade involving 20 selected schools to commemorate Ghana's 69th Independence Day. The event, themed 'Building Prosperity, Restoring Hope,' featured 640 participants, including 600 students and 40 teachers from both public and private schools.
According to Ghana News Agency, the two-hour parade was attended by various dignitaries, traditional and religious leaders, assembly members, and other stakeholders. Ms. Solace Osei Appiah, the Ningo-Prampram District Education Director, highlighted the celebration as a moment to reflect on the resilience and determination of the nation's forebears who fought for Ghana's independence. She emphasized the importance of education as the foundation of national development and prosperity.
Ms. Appiah expressed her gratitude to stakeholders, including teachers, parents, and development partners, for their support in educating young people. She stressed the importance of equipping the youth with relevant skills and values to compete globally. Additionally, she encouraged students to remain disciplined and focused on their studies to achieve their future goals.
Mr. Raphael Uriel Nartey, the Ningo-Prampram District Chief Executive, remarked that the celebration was a reminder of the collective responsibility of citizens in advancing Ghana's development agenda. He emphasized that prosperity requires discipline, innovation, and hard work, and that hope is restored through improved leadership and economic opportunities.
Mr. Nartey reiterated the district assembly's commitment to strengthening local governance, enhancing education and healthcare, and promoting local economic development in sectors like agriculture and fisheries. He also commended teachers for preparing students for the parade and presented a special award to Miss Blessing Dasinor, a six-year-old student, for her outstanding marching performance.
All participating schools received certificates of participation following the parade.
