Accra- The National Identification Authority (NIA) on Monday began the registration process for the issuance of long awaited national identification cards.
After last week’s postponement of the process as a result of technical glitches , officials of the NIA arrived at the Jubilee House and earnestly kick-started the process with the staff of the Presidency.
Moments after setting up two work stations, the team led by the Acting Executive Secretary of the NIA, Prof Kenneth Attafuah, began processing the details of the rank and file of the Jubilee House who had gathered in their numbers to register for their Ghana Cards.
The NIA is thus set to roll out a nationwide registration and issuance of the national identity cards with the start of the process.
The new cards will replace the ones issued previously by the Authority.
